ALight Technology And Services Limited: September 2024

As part of ongoing effort to improve WebVeta, I have been implementing a significant update that is now being rolled out in phases over the past week, and some updates still happening over the next 1 – 2 days. This update has been designed to enhance the overall user experience without disrupting existing functionality. The planned completion of updates was 16/09/2024, but due to certain reasons, a more stabler update is being rolled out with a target of 20/09/2024.

Key Updates and Improvements:

The web updates have successfully been pushed into production.

A new authentication system utilizing AWS Cognito has been implemented, enhancing security and scalability for users.

Additional search enhancements will be deployed over the next 1-2 days, further improving performance and search accuracy.

Breaking Change: AWS Cognito Login

As part of this update, some breaking changes were done, migrating to AWS Cognito for login authentication.

While this may require some users to re-register, I think this move is essential for ensuring long-term security and scalability. Fortunately, the impact on existing sign-ups has been minimal.

Upcoming Updates and Resources:

A demo showcasing the new features will be published in 3-4 days.

I am thrilled to announce that a major update is underway at WebVeta, designed to boost our WebVeta's performance and reliability. This upgrade will introduce new GPU servers with significantly enhanced CPU and RAM capacity, taking infrastructure to the next level.

I thank Microsoft for Startup Founders for approving my request for GPU instances.

What does this mean?

Improved A.I based Search Performance:

With the new hardware, expect a substantial increase in search speed and accuracy. Some of the A.I models used seem very fast and using slightly more bigger and accurate A.I models.

Normal search accuracy remains but due to accelerated networking, there might be slight speed improvements, but not expecting significant because current speed delay is due to external such as DNS, SSL handshake etc…

Support for Growing User Base: Webveta adding new features and getting to get commercialized and out of mvp / beta period, I am hoping more people would sign up and these servers should support a large userbase.

The Upgrade Process:

I am committed to minimizing downtime during the upgrad. Some pre-work is underway. This morning, from features perspective, code has been done and ready for Pre-Prod and Prod environments in the cloud.

Production server upgrades are about to take place next week. Please note that at least one server will remain available throughout the process.

During the transition period, you might experience occasional search disruptions or temporary logging out from the portal. I am anticipating this to be minimal, but wanted to communicate about any potential issues.

Timelines:

I am planning staged releases of the upgrades over the next week. Target completion date is September 15th, 2024, and I am confident these changes are going to happen on time or even early.

Several smaller updates are planned after this release. Expect small feature enhancements every 2 – 3 weeks over the next 2 – 3 months.
