NOT Attending - ALight Technology And Services Limited got accepted into NATWEST Accelerator

NOT Attending because NATWEST requires physical presence in U.K, but my Graduate Route Visa has expired in January 2024.


 Introduction:

ALight Technology And Services Limited & ALight Technologies USA Inc’s WebVeta SaaS product has been accepted into NATWEST accelerator program. The accelerator is a six month program set to start in September. I am attending this program virtually from India!

WebVeta 27-06-2024 Update: New AI Capabilities and Advancements

The new AI-powered features are currently in a closed preview and will not be available until the General Availability (GA) version is released within 30-45 days.

One of the key enhancements in this release is the improved accuracy level of neural search. This means that the first few search results can be passed to LLMs, generating textual responses instead of presenting a list of web pages.

This type of search capability, powered by normal full-text and AI-driven neural search, can be easily integrated into any website by copying and pasting just a few lines of HTML code. WebVeta - What to expect in the next few weeks? What happened in the past 24 - 48 hours!

 June 13th release of WebVeta had a private preview of A.I based search. But, here is the question? How do I measure the quality of results? There needs to be a way for measuring the quality of the results and this metric needs to be improved!

I have used a small sub-set (1000 rows) of a large publicly available database containing over 2.3m rows. 

The following are based on 1000 random different texts, the accuracy might vary among datasets, but hey this is a starting point.

The base metrics were:

60% of the times the first result was relevant.

70% of the times the relevant results are in the first page i.e first 10 results.


Certain tweaks were made and much more tweaks are planned. But the results of the past 24 - 48 hours:

67% of the times the first result was relevant - I would like this metric at 90% or more.

89.5% of the times the first 10 results had the relevant result - I want this metric at 100%


From speed optimizations perspective, small VM had these approximate numbers:

Base - approximate 200ms per search

New - approximate 40ms per search

Ingesting data entirely different because for most content, ingestion happens once but retrieving needs to happen fast and probably several thousands or several million times. At this point, not much concerned about ingestion speed, but probably later.


In other words the past 24 - 48 hours had 500% speedup, 11.67% increased accuracy in 1st answer, slightly over 27% increased accuracy in 1st 10 results.


Over the next few weeks, higher accuracy A.I based search, general availabillity of A.I features and paid tier are going to be introduced.

WebVeta! Whats new in the May 21st 2024 release?

 WebVeta updates have been released into production (Few minor updates pending)!

Tomorrow at 17:00 (India standard time) there's going to be a live video show casing the new features.





This version has some normal features and some A.I features:

Normal features:

You can customize which sections of your website gets indexed and which sections get skipped. The same thing can be achieved via robots.txt file at the root of your website. Still this is a feature for you to have control over the search engine for your own website. Several more customizations are planned.

A.I features:

1) Keywords using NLP techniques i.e extracting keywords from content and displaying in the search results - free.

2) Keywords using A.I - this soon becomes a premium feature, this requires almost 4 - 5 times more processing than normal.

3) Summary using A.I - this becomes a premium featture very soon. This requires around 500 times more processing.


Even in these, you control what keywords to skip!


Next update going to be around mid June! Few more nicer features!
